I do not how other students feel but this is how I feel. I don't feel 100% prepared for the exam on Monday. In preparation for the exams in the past I found the "in class review day" very beneficial. I really benefited from coming into your office hours after the review and clearing everything up. I was wondering if there was any way that you could possibly move the exam to Wednesday, while doing a review on Monday and having office hours as well.
Sincerely,
Needy Student
All they know is that I wasn't feeling well yesterday. They have a lecture outline for every topic, a study guide for the exam, and Q&A page on Blackboard where I respond to questions. For fuck's sake.

Dear student:
You are a dipshit. Dr. Addy has a life outside of your precious class (of which you don't need to know the details, by the way). She's done everything already but take your test for you. Consider this your engraved invitation to grow up and do your own work, you little brat.
Sincerely,
The entire blogosphere
OMG, Terminal Degree totally left the comment I was going to leave. :)
They want an in-class review AND to discuss the material in your office? WTF? Are they doing *any* work on their own?
Jeebus. Can you just email a bitch-slap?
Damn, I was going to say the same thing!!
What a bunch of fuck-wits!!!
exactly what terminal degree said. what is wrong with students these days?!
Student = moron. I'm sorry you have to deal with this kind of crap right now. Indeed time for student to wake up and realize that they are responsible for their own learning, preparation and progression through their degree program. They are adults...right?
Some students really just don't think. They don't recognize how much you're giving them unless someone spells it all out.
The one advantage to losing my first baby when I was visibly and publicly pregnant was that my students backed the hell off. But I don't for a second think they would have stopped on their own to consider that when I missed class, it might be a big deal, and maybe they should think of someone else's needs once in a while.
For fuck's sake. Nothing I could write here would top Terminal Degree's on-point reply, so I'll just suggest you cut and paste that into your reply. ;-)
Seriously.
And I sure as hell hope that student is in a 100-level intro course and is a frosh because that's the _only_ way this is the least bit understandable (although not excusable). FWIW, I stopped doing in class reviews about 5 years ago when it became apparently clear that students used it as a crutch after not doing all of the work themselves.
I feel your pain with this snowflake.
