Happy Birthday to Addy's Mom!

I arrived in Adopted Home State today to surprise my mom for her 60th birthday! I got out of Small College Town just in time to beat the snow that arrived (just as I was leaving- they even had to de-ice the plane before take-off). My mom was really surprised and happy to see me. She is really busy with work right now, though, so I've mostly been just hanging around and relaxing this afternoon. I knew she was going to be busy, so it's OK. I'm just glad I could come. I have plenty of work to do, but haven't felt in the mood. I copied my syllabi before leaving (although I keep discovering typos in one of them!), so I'm pretty much ready for next week. I do have some prep to do and some other non-teaching service things to do. I get home Sunday evening and start teaching Monday! Luckily, the weather looks like it will be more cooperative than today's.

We'll be going out for dinner tonight and I'm going to see my Step Dad and hopefully a couple of friends while I'm here, so I'll have things to do even if my mom is overwhelmed with work. It should be a fun break before the reality of Spring semester arrives!
