Note to my department chair:

Stop sending out requests for service positions, then turning me down when I volunteer, because you are "concerned about my research agenda". It's not your f-cking problem and I am free to do these things now that I have tenure. It is also not your concern whether or not I have a "five-year research plan" that helps me toward promotion to full professor. That is my business, not yours. If you think that I am unable to accomplish my research, why did I get tenure?
