Advent Calendar Question (or Addy is procrastinating)
OK, I never had advent calendars when I was growing up, so I have a question: do you start with #1 so that the date matches your number each day or start with #24 and count down? D has one this year with candy inside little drawers. Each day you turn the drawer around and at the end you have made a picture, too (similar to this one). The #24 is the star at the very top, so I thought it made more sense to open that on Christmas Eve rather than December 1st, but what do I know? Maybe it depends on the calendar?

start with the one and go towards the 24...
And where did you get a nice advent calendar? Inquiring minds want to know.
Yes, start with 1. I have that same calendar (well, with a different picture). Last year I gave it to 402 with little notes and gifts in it. Yesterday I finished filling it with chocolates and notes again. I didn't have advent as a kid, but wish I did. It's fun!
Start with 1... or, if you're too tired, with 23, just like I did last night, ha!
I love Advent Calendars - we never had them in Mexico (even though we celebrated Advent), but they are EVERYWHERE here in Germany... EVERYWHERE. I got ours for free from the public transportation people! ;)
Thanks, everyone! I bought that one at Starbucks AFTER Christmas two year ago (half price!) and am just refilling it now. I guess they have a similar one at Cost Plus (World Market), and eBay has the exact same one I have.
That Cost Plus link doesn't seem to be working. Try this.
I love advent calendars. There are even ones for dogs with treats behind each door!
You match the dates. This will be a nice tradition for you and D - I need to go dig ours out of the attic.
oh, that seems like a lot of fun, I might just have to go to cost plus and start ours a bit late...
