Still here!

I can claim that I was so busy working that I didn't have time post, but that would be a lie! I've been a little productive, but not as much as I should be. I'm also having some health problems right now. It started with a mild rash on my legs on Wednesday, then  yesterday I woke up with joint pain in my hands, wrists, elbows, ankles, and feet. It seems to subside over the day, then I don't sleep well at night and wake up feeling worse. I'm feeling tired and run down, too. I haven't been to the doctor yet, because I'm afraid they won't know what it is and just give me antibiotics. I've looked around on the web and the only pictures I found that resemble my rash were for a virus. Then I also saw some entries for "Fifth Disease" and it sounds a lot like what I have. None of my symptoms are too worrisome, so I'm inclined to wait it out and then go see the doctor if things don't improve. I took yesterday off to go with H to have a new car stereo installed, but was in the office Monday, Tuesday, and part of Thursday. I have a lot of things to work on, but am having my usual summer struggles (and feeling under the weather is giving me even more reason to slack off!) I just wanted to check in!

OK, I don't want to freak you out of anything, but that is how the RA crap started for me.

Have you tried an anti-inflammatory, like Advil or Alieve? That may help the pain.

When was the last time you had a full blood work up? There are certain tests that you can have to rule stuff out.

I hope you do feel better. Joint pain is truly painful. Drop me an email if you have more questions.

yeah, that might be something to check out. And I think only kids get Fifth Disease because you can only get it once and most people do before they're teenagers or so.
good luck!

Addy,

I hope that you feel better soon. Sounds like horrible yuck to me. You don't think it's contagious over the Internet, do you?

Thanks, everyone!

SS: I did have a complete blood count back in February or March when I was first pregnant, but I'm not sure they would look for anything like RA- it was a major one, though. They checked everything that could impact the pregnancy, so it was pretty thorough.

W&K: I know that fifth is most common in kids, but the web sources I read said that adults DO get it. I don't remember having any rash illnesses besides chicken pox as a kid, so it's entirely possible I never had it. I guess it's contagious before you know you have anything, so if my daughter gets sick with it, I'll know for sure. I also have rosacea so I don't know if any facial rash would be noticeable (which apparently adults don't always get).

Jogger: Yeah- it's not too bad- just weird and yet another strange health issue! Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing!

Are you feeling better? My first thought was Lyme Disease.
