Blast from the past

I've been listening to music from my teenage years...

Only came outside to watch the night fall with the rain

OK- name that tune! (no Googling- that's cheating!)

I stepped out on the front porch while it was raining this evening (which inspired the above lyrics to pop into my head). I broke out my 80s records after I came back inside. D was dancing around the living room and asked how I know the words to the songs. I can't believe I've owned those records for over 20 years! How scary.

It's amazing that it's so easy to remember lyrics to songs you haven't heard in 10 years. And sometimes never really liked in the first place.

Publius: Does that mean you recognize the lyrics? And that you never liked that song? That particular line seems to pop into my head occasionally for some reason (when it's raining). It seems that it just stuck with me. It isn't my favorite song from that band, but I do like it.

The same guys who said:

I made a run, I run out yesterday
Tried to find my mountain hideaway
Maybe next year, maybe no go

I love those guys!!!!

Yay- another fan! I have a TON of their records (not tapes or CDs) and I haven't listened to them in AGES. I was up late last night doing some work and I listened to a bunch of their stuff on Yahoo! Music Unlimited. What a trip down memory lane that was! Do you remember this one?

You've done it all, you've broken every code
And pulled the Rebel to the floor
You spoilt the game, no matter what you say
For only metal-what a bore!
Blue eyes, blue eyes, how come you tell so many lies?

Oh, yes. I remember this lyric as well. How could I not? Every girl I went out with back then was a devotee to one of them. I'm quite sure that nearly every girl on planet earth was.
