Pardon the interruption..
Wow. What a week. I am so glad that I don't teach until next Wednesday! I think the week went well (I will blog more on that later), but I need to share some belated news. My Facebook friends already know, but I was approved by the University Promotion & Tenure Committee! We had the traditional champagne toast in our faculty meeting today (there are a few of us who were up this year). It still has to go to the Provost, President, & Board of Trustees, but these are just formalities (apparently). I still can't believe it...

wow, congrats! I just started reading your blog a few weeks ago, as I started applying for college professor jobs myself, so this is my first comment. I thought I should comment and congratulate you because it's a great accomplishment! wow!

Will & Kate: Do you have a blog? Your profile didn't list one. And yes, I think I will have to change the name of my blog. I'll keep this one until August, though, because my promotion won't officially start until then. I'm sure I'll be soliciting ideas for a new name over the summer!
Just a semi-private blog of pics of my daughter and family. Someday I hope to start a more work-related one (without names!), right now I'm too busy finishing grad school and applying for postdocs and real jobs. Hmmm... though I guess I'm not sure when I'll ever have the time with this career path. :o)
