Construction, construction, everywhere...
This is what is going on outside my office right now. They are putting in new steps at the building entrance. Add the sound of shouting men for the full effect...
When do they start in the morning? Do they wake you up? Any harassment?
I used to get calls at my old job all the time from elderly people calling to complain about construction work. They were frequently home-bound, and since the law allowed almost any amount of noise during the day, there wasn't much I could do. Very frustrating.
Publius: That picture is taken from my office at school- not home (we own a house, so any construction here, I'd have to blame us!) Right now, Oxford is pretty torn up with EVERY road into town closed (with detours) or down to one lane. Campus is just as bad- they are doing various construction projects which cut into parking spaces, and in this case, close two of the six entrances to our building. The best part is that they blocked off the only two doors that have a card reader (the only way to enter the building on weekends!) At least they seem to be done with the painting now... The stairs project looks like a nightmare- they are not pouring concrete, but replacing that with new stone slabs that are apparently REALLY heavy (I heard they tipped over a bobcat the other morning trying to lift too many at once)
Oh. Silly me. Anyway, I suppose the college is trying to get all the construction done over the summer when students aren't there? Sounds pretty unpleasant.
